BIRD FIELD FILTER FOR RABBIT

Turkey Vulture    07/03/2001    McQueen and Elliot Roads    Snuck upon a TV. Zillions of hares.
Curve-billed Thrasher    4/26/1998    Pima Canyon    I also put in Bendire's thrasher because one of the CB thrashers was hanging out with a straight-billed lemon-eyed thrasher. I read later that the immature CB thrasher shares these characteristings with the CB so out he goes! Sonny and Steve and I went . We walked clear up to fat man's pass and we walked there for about five hours. Came back on the Mormon Trail. It started raining and thundering and the rain was quite cold. It stopped and we were warm again.

Generic No Bird    06/17/2001    McQueen and Elliot Roads    No birds especially. Mourning doves I guess. Lots of jackrabbits.
Northern Harrier    10/14/2001    McQueen and Elliot Roads    Raising hell with jackrabbits.
Golden Eagle    12/16/2001    McQueen and Elliot Roads    watched him kill a rabbit
Turkey Vulture    03/27/2004    McQueen and Elliot Roads    I saw this bird coming in for a landing in what's left of the field there and I pulled in and watched him eat a dead red bloody jackrabbit. I took his picture.
Snowy Egret    6/20/2020    Sun Lakes    Cotton tailed rabbit as usual NWPond
Red-winged Blackbird    6/20/2020    Sun Lakes    NWPond and West Rez Cotton tailed rabbit as usual

Pima Canyon 06/20/2004 Dits and Steve and I went before six in the morning and went to Fat Man's Pass. We went up the arroyo and then to the water tank and then up the trail and to that arroyo full of javelina poop with orange peels. It was a long hike that way. I slid down Fat Man's Pass and I ate some peanutbutter crackers. Had some corn nuts too and some cheetos jalepeño chedard (cheddar) crackers. Our thermometers read 105 degrees on the way back, but I don't know. A dog left a train of horses running after a jack rabbit. When we got to the stone houses on the way back, we took the road. It took a little over twenty minutes. The tank is closer to the stone houses than I thought.z

JOURNAL WITH RABBIT
Shoot, I looked at the map there and it showed Pond 5 just ahead as you pass through the Heron Gate. I checked it twice. The pond was kind of dry. Some people there and I started looking for the bittern and finally one lady spotted something. We looked at it a long time. We could see a bittern-sized critter on the far shore and finally it moved. We were sure it was the bittern. We looked a long time. It was well across the pond and near the limits of our binocs. The lady asked what power I had. I said 8.5 as opposed to her 8-power. We wished we had a scope. Then, the sun shone across the basin and lighted up the creature's ears. The sun shone straight through its ears and lighted our binocs with pink. It was a big, bull-goose jackrabbit!
I saw a JACK RABBIT AT THE HOUSE.
Sun Lakes    6/12/2020     Went over to NWPond for a while.  Cottontail rabbits
McQueen and Elliot Roads    06/17/2001    At the field behind school jackrabbits everywhere. I put in generic no bird to create this journal entry.
The Salt Trail    11/22/2002    Chapter 15 The Salt TrailPARAGRAPH GOES HERENovember 22, 2002PARAGRAPH GOES HERE
Sun Lakes    6/11/2020    Did little today. I didn't even cut down a palm tree. The Wild Birds I Have Known notebook is now FULL and I must make another. It's March 11 to June 11, 2020. I haven't been talking to people on Baselang for a few days or three days or something. I'm bored with it. Maybe I'll pay the 149 bucks again for the heck of it. Cottontail rabbits Sid called yesterday and said he had a stroke. He was looking at his phone and one eye went blurry. He went to the eye doctor who said it was a stroke. Jesus. I hope he doesn't have another.
Had some corn nuts too and some cheetos jalepeño chedard crackers. It took a little over twenty minutes. The tank is closer to the stone houses than I thought.
Higley and Ocotillo Roads    6/5/2012    Giant jackrabbit. Kind of a long drive for nothing much.
Cotton Fields Chandler    7/31/1991    Got this from my journal. Noodles and I went to the cotton field down Warner Road behind Target and saw this roadrunner. The journal reads: I took Noodles out and we walked in the short staple cotton fields.  Noodles chased a roadrunner.  There was also a jackrabbit there.  I collected a bunch of river stones and fixed up the display case that I had got from the exact same place several months earlier.  Looks good now in my Coyote Room.  I fixed up the musical instruments there so I can call it the Rock Music room because of all of the rocks and fossils there, you see.
McQueen and Elliot Roads    08/12/2001    I drew hearts in the notebook and wrote: "Got Noodles twelve years ago today.  Rabbits. I guess I put in generic bird 'cause I saw nothing especially.
Sun Lakes    6/20/2020    I walked and even jogged a little to Mysterious Puddle. I went the back way going down the streets to the dirt canal bordering the rez and in through Little Niagra Falls. NWPond has Cotton tailed rabbit as usual. I keep forgetting to write down the cotton-tailed rabbits. I've been setting the AC air conditioning to 84 and it's plenty comfortable and doesn't strain my AC unit which I don't want to break when I'm in quarantine. I sent a message to Paul Morris and then on his advice send a messenger message to Zach Wiggins so he could give me private online musical notation classes. He hasn't responded yet.
Pima Canyon    05/23/2006    I went with my new toothache as my old root canal seems to be failing. I was tired and a little hot. I went a mile down or so, but not as far as the BT cliffs. Lots of rabbits, antelope ground squirrels, rock squirrels, lizards, bees, and one giant chuckwalla on a rock overlooking the road.
Pima Canyon    1/11/1998    jackrabbit
Veterans Oasis Park    6/17/2017    Jackrabbits as big as elk. Dead owl. Pretty hot.
McQueen and Elliot Roads    06/15/2001    Lark at field and Noodles went swimming and lost her collar but we got it back. Jackrabbits by the 1000's.
Elliot and Cooper Roads    06/13/2004    Lots of water in Pond 9 and nothing much elsewhere. Cat in Pond 8. Rabbits. A guy with tattoos talked to me about the site. Dead toads as usual. A mourning dove is nesting under the roof.
Elliot and Cooper Roads    02/19/2005    REDHEADS AND CORMORANTS! A rabbit swam across the lake to this island. Three guys in Khakki pants came by. One looked like Frank Zappa. RAINING!!!! OH, HAS IT BEEN RAINING. Noodles had a good time but was aggressive towards the khakki guys. They made me a little nervous as I couldn't figure out the type of persons they were and they might be criminals or something. They were looking at the plants and smelling them. All three had the dumb pants.
McQueen and Elliot Roads    11/02/2002    Saw a jackrabbit going a hundred miles an hour in the distance, so perhaps that was a rabbit a saw a while back going like mad.
Elliot and Cooper Roads    11/28/2011    Smelled a skunk. Rabbits out there.
McQueen and Elliot Roads    09/02/2002    The drinkers had come back and made a mess. "Pond" is dry. Still plenty of jackrabbits.
McQueen and Elliot Roads    10/13/2002    There was something dark RACING over the field. I thought it was a dark rabbit but it didn't jump. Nothing could run that fast. Perhaps it was a low-flying hawk, but I don't know. God, it was fast.
Greenfield and Guadalupe Roads    11/14/2004    THIS IS WHEN I MISTOOK THE RABBIT FOR AN AMERICAN BITTERN. I FORGOT TO RECORD IT. LOOK BELOW TO SEE E-MAIL RECORDS: Look!
Elliot and Cooper Roads    6/9/2010    Two coyotes came out of the cottonwood tree on the SW corner. Later I saw them across Pond 9 and one was carrying something in its mouth that looked like a rabbit or something. Scott was going to come over, but he flaked again, so I went here. Yesterday and the day before I found GH Owl feathers. I looked for him and for cough balls but saw nothing.
Elliot and Cooper Roads    12/25/2012    Went after I saw Django the new Tarantino movie. I was grumpy before I saw the movie because I had had nothing to eat and no one told me until a half hour before that they had bought a ticket for me and expected me to attend. I ate a hotdog at the theater (It was VERY good.) and two tiny White Castle cheeseburgers. I slept over. I slept outside on the couch for a long time. It gets noisy out there. At four in the morning I came back in. I slept with Skippy until eight o'clock. I slept in that fleece rabbit suit. I gave Steve the book Sicario. Charle Bowden edited it. I was confused because I was pretty sure he didn't speak Spanish and then I realized the book had been translated from English to Spanish. I hope he finishes it soon because I want to read it. Maybe I'll just order my own used one from Amazon or Ebay or something. It was a little overcast at E&C Roads. I entered more from estero morua into the other database.

JOURNAL WITH COTTONTAIL OR COTTON TAIL
Pima Canyon    06/19/2004    A big coyote walked down the wash just behind the picnic tables. He had a long face. I followed him but, of course, did not see him again. Six species at the BT cliffs. Lots of very large Rock Squirrels and small cotton tails. Also, wild lizards. Brownish ruddy big speckled. One like a collared lizard. One with a skull-like head. Supposed to be 106 but it was windy. It didn't seem to hot. I drank less than a liter and a quarter of fizzie water: peach grapefruit and grapefruit tangerine. yesterday i typed up Paul Corrigan's early observation comments. They were not glowing as he has NO idea how to teach an ESL class.
Greenfield and Guadalupe Roads    5/16/2019    I drove over and took Val Vista. It seemed to work all right that way. Not too hot. Hardly anyone there. Walked around no anna hummers. Carp were seen with their backs out of the water. Cotton tailed bunnies. Turtles.
Elliot and Cooper Roads    1/28/2011    Walked clean around and through the neighborhood and back. I went to the library later and just worked at the picnic table. COTTON TAIL WAS THERE AGAIN AS HE WAS YESTERDAY.
Elliot and Cooper Roads    3/26/2015    Went to Middleton's tax and found that the difference between my 7.31 CreateSpace royalty that I sent to the IRS and the correct 18.81 one didn't matter. They thought I said 18 HUNDRED and 81 dollars. Har!  There was a COTTON TAIL here.

JOURNAL WITH BUNNY
Sun Lakes    7/13/2020    Bunny at Mysterious Puddle. Worked on the musical notation. Did yesterday too.
Sun Lakes    6/25/2020    Bunny at the place. I spent time writing sheet music for Only in Dreams using pencil. It's a lot of work and has little entertainment value. I'm doing "Only in Dreams." I'm going to finish la partitura and send it to Zach and have a class. 109° Fahrenheit today at least. Waiting for the chotacabras to enter...
Sun Lakes    6/22/2020    Bunny there again. In the back yard the fruit are falling from the saguaros yet still WW Doves roost up on the top. Gilas are living in the saguaros. I emailed Paddy McNeill and found that he had passed away.
Pima Canyon    6/23/2020    Dits, Steve, and I went. We wore our masks. We walked a long way and went back on the road. I drank nothing until the end and then I chugged a quart of water. Not very birdy as you can see. Lots of people on this TUESDAY HIKE because everyone's out of work because of the virus and have time off.  There was a bunny. Ground squirrels, and lizards.  OH, LOOK AT THE DATE. SAD DAY.
Elliot and Cooper Roads    12/6/2010    There was a bunny on the burm between Ponds 9 and 8. Not so many mourning doves for goodness sake.
