Look at the Trouble I'm In

Dennis's Song April 5, 2021.mp3

Nobody knows da troubles I've seen,
And nobody's seen the bad places I've been;
Done lived me a lifetime of fool'ry and sin,
Now look at the trouble I'm in.

Now that you know the trouble I'm in,
Is there anything I'd do over again?
My life as it happened
I just can't rearrange
But there's nothing that I would change

And nobody knows the beauty I've seen:
Sunrise and sunsets, and what's in between;
Storm clouds or stars, all thru the nite
But so often in them I took no delight.

Nobody knows da troubles I've seen,
And nobody's seen the bad places I've been;
Done lived me a lifetime of fool'ry and sin,
Now look at the trouble I'm in.

I wish I had given the original instrumental to Dennis because he could have had something for the occasion to play as people came into the room for his living wake. Here it is. Oh, well...

THIS SHEET MUSIC DOESN'T HAVE THE BRIDGE

Tom,

OMFG!!! I can't believe my incredible good fortune, in asking you to arrange it for me, it's so beautiful. How can I eer thank you? Because I'll be able to play it at the wake we're having. I'm so much more than impressed. I'm sitting here with tears streaming down my cheeks, and it's making it near impossible to type.
Thank you a gazillion times, and like I said, you're welcome to the rights if you think there's a demand for it. I'm going to start sharing it around right away. Once again, what a beautiful presentation you made for me; I have long thought that my FB friends are very special indeed, and you are among my most cherished.
Thank you again for such a beautiful going-away gift.

He also later messaged me, however, that he wanted me to change the lyrics a little bit. He had written, "Nobody knows the bad places I've been" and I had taken out the word "bad." Apparently for him the fact that the places were bad was important and so I sang and recorded that part again and he was happy and messaged me, "You've come through for me again!" Tom,
